1940s Corde Bag By Ed B. Robinson
Ed B. Robinson made glamorous handbags in the 1940s and 1950s. The company had offices in New York, London and Paris and was known for their fine quality and materials. This example is a corde bag from the 40s with tortoise bakelite closure. Corde was a very popular material used in bags, shoes, hats and I believe originated in France. This bag is in remarkable condition, likely never used. It reminds me of the pleated designs by Issey Miyake.
