Ancient Egyptian Steatite Scarab Amulet
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A hand-carved steatite scarab amulet with the topside exhibiting slender legs tucked beneath a folded wing carapace as well as a triangular head. The bottom features an incised image of a minimalist feline standing on all fours with a slightly raised head. Faint remains of blue-green glaze are still visible in some areas. 1.6 cm x 1 cm
