The Boötes Necklace
Boötes is the ancient name given to a constellation in the northern sky. The name and mythology date back to ancient Egypt. Ptolemy recorded Boötes as one of the 48 constellations described in the 2nd century.
Similar to the constellations, which are strung together to create a more formal shape, the grouping of black banded agate and red Nanhong agate forms an elegant arc when connected by the simple toggle clasp. The necklace measures 18 inches in length.
