Lampe en Verre un Mosquée au Caire Baron Alphonse de Rothschild
A French 19th century etching showing an example of a Mamluk-style enameled and gilded glass mosque lamp. By the address of the printer, the etching was made around 1850. Islamic art was an area of great interest at the time, and the Rothschild family had the largest collection privately held. Eugene Collinot documented the styles and objects of Islamic art in great detail.
