Gunnar Nylund Chamotte Vase for Rörstrand

Gunnar Nylund was the creative director for Rörstrand Sweden and created his chamotte pieces from 1936 to 1948. Always interested in experimenting with materials, glazes, and shapes, the chamotte collection presents new forms, unique bright colors, and a rough texture that is created when mixing already fired clay powder into fresh fireclay. This vase is an excellent example of the medium with its swelling body, porous texture, and golden glaze. 10 inches by 8 inches by 3.5 inches.
