Antonio Gaudí Calvet Mirror 96”
A reproduction of Spanish architect Antonio Gaudí’s Calvet mirror created for Casa Calvet in Barcelona. Casa Calvet was commissioned by textile manufacturer Pere Màrtir Calvet for both his business and living quarters. The Calvet mirror is carved out of oak and gilded with sheets of brass. And beautifully represents Gaudí’s doctrine that there are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature. Therefore, buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners.
This exceptional mirror is unusually large measuring 96” x 32” x 6”. Calvet mirrors are more typically found at 76” in height and 22” wide.
