Yves Saint Laurent Gripoix Curb Chain Necklace
This necklace was designed by Loulou de la Falaise in the 90s. Falaise was the true Saint Laurent haute bohemiene…charming, aristocratic, strikingly beautiful, and talented. She worked beside Yves, creating the accessories to his designs. Falaise favored the brilliant colors of Gripoix and employed their jewels in most of her designs.
The creator of haute bijouterie in the late 19th century, Maison Gripoix Paris developed jewels in the pâte de verre technique. Gripoix made jewelry for fashion houses from Poiret to Lanvin, and most notably YSL and Chanel.
This vintage YSL necklace has seven Gripoix drops in rich jewel tones on a 17” gunmetal flat curb chain, with a hook closure and YSL stamp. It is a timeless piece with just the right mix of lady and rebel.
